International Visitors Program
Take advantage of a special International
Business Program and Business Centre services for international
visitors, all jointly
organized, for the benefit of Canadian firms, by Foreign Affairs & International Trade
Canada, CMHC International, and
the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, with the assistance of the Canadian
Construction Association.
The International Business Program has been developed for all
international visitors attending our Shows.
This program will help you make use of your time wisely while you are in
Canada.
Remember, start the process now and allow
enough time for processing of your visa, if a visa is required.
Do not finalize your travel arrangements until all the necessary
steps to ensure legal entry into Canada are completed.
The
International Business Centre
The
International Business Centre is a resource centre and
meeting place for international trade and activity and will serve all
your informational needs at the Show.
The Centre will be open from Tuesday,
November 27 to Friday, November 30 on the level 700 of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre
South Building. The Centre will be open every day, providing
you with an ideal location to hold business meetings or to further
explore business opportunities.

The International Business Program is a specialized networking and
educational program developed to assist International Visitors to learn,
share, meet, and build relationships with Canadian companies. The
International Business Program is comprised of a bus tour, informative
seminar program and a Networking Luncheon.

Bus Tour of Innovative Buildings & Projects in Toronto
(Space is limited. "First come, first serve")
A
half-day guided tour of several residential and commercial projects and
mixed-use communities that will include some of the latest innovations in
green and environmentally-enhanced buildings and developments.

Networking Luncheon
The Networking Luncheon is an opportunity to network with other
international visitors, as well as Canadian architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and
suppliers. Admission to the luncheon for international
visitors is included in your registration fee.

Presentation on EQuilibrium Homes:
The Latest Innovation in Canadian Housing
EQuilibrium Housing is an initiative that
reflects the objective of balancing Canadian housing requirements with the
need to preserve and protect our natural environment. EQuilibrium is
a design and development approach that integrates five key principals for
sustainable design: health, energy, resources, environment and
affordability. This presentation will discuss the initiative, why
Canada is doing it, how companies became involved and the different
projects from coast to coast.

Spanish Language Presentation on LEED Building and Sustainable Design
This Spanish language presentation will showcase Canadian best practices and notable projects in sustainable (LEED) design and construction, focusing on commercial and civil structures. The session is especially targeted to international delegates, visitors and trade officers from Mexico, Latin America, South America and Spain.

Self-Directed Tour of 1100 Exhibits
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings will be devoted
to touring the 1100 exhibits and watching the "hands-on"
demonstrations on the exposition floor. As an international visitor,
you
will receive a special package of information with your registration kit
that will direct you to those exhibitors who have indicated a strong
interest in exporting to specific global markets.

Business Centre
The International Business
Centre will provide a focus point for international visitors during
your stay at the Show, providing ongoing information and staff
resources to assist you and a comfortable space for informal
business meetings. The centre will be open from 8 a.m. to 6
p.m. on Tuesday, November 27 to Thursday, November 29, and from 9 a.m.
to 12 noon on Friday, November 30.
Canadian Housing Technology Showcase
A Showcase of Canadian residential housing
construction technology will be located beside the International
Business Centre. You will have an opportunity to study samples
that will give you greater insights into Canadian building systems,
materials, and products.
